I’m fiercely independent, but I’m also terrified of being alone.

total relaxation.

This weekend I went camping - and it was fucking awesome. I turned my phone off for the entire weekend, and just let myself enjoy the outdoors and the company of my family, friends, and everyone else around me.

It just reminded me that I need to turn off my technology more often; play more games, run around more often, have more conversations, enjoy more silence. I play card games, bocce, basketball, tanned, went kayaking, swam, got drunk, danced around a fire, and just had one of the best weekends I’ve had in a while.

I was so carefree and the most genuinely happy that I’ve been in I don’t know how long. I need to get outdoors more often and just live life.  It was fabulous, I met some new friends, bonded more with my family, and feel so incredibly refreshed.

Life is good, don’t forget that.

Was just talking about this with friends from work. It’s so important to know yourself when you’re alone, not just who you are with other people. Don’t let others define you.
